Rick Baker didn’t start in remodeling, he started in air traffic control.
Before founding Stately Design & Renovation in 2007, Rick earned a real estate degree, held a broker’s license, owned and remodeled rental properties, spent five years in home décor, and worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as both an air traffic controller and an IT project manager. The common thread through all of it? A love for problem-solving, precision, and building something that lasts.
When Rick started Stately, he brought all of that with him: the project management discipline, the eye for design, and a deep respect for a client’s investment. Nearly two decades and thousands of projects later, that foundation still shapes how the company operates every single day.
Rick and his wife, Janet, his high school sweetheart, have been married for more than 40 years and are deeply rooted in the Southlake community. He’s involved in his local church, and outside of work, you’ll find him in the shop metalworking, woodworking, or out hunting. He builds things. That’s just who he is.

Your dedicated project manager is on-site every single day. Our trade partners, many of whom have been with us for over a decade, build to the plan with daily quality oversight. When challenges come up (and in remodeling, they do), we bring you a solution, not a problem.
As your project wraps up, we walk through the home together and build a finish list to make sure every last detail is addressed. Within 30 days of completion, we come back to take care of anything that’s come up since you’ve settled in. We close out with a professional cleaning and power washing of exterior areas, and we stay in contact long after the job is done.
