The existing footprint was too small, the layout didn’t serve their family’s unique needs, and the design felt like it belonged to someone else’s life. They didn’t just want a remodel. Working alongside the homeowners’ architect and designer, who provided a full selection booklet and detailed drawings, the team tore the existing home down to the studs and foundation, doubled the square footage, and essentially built a completely new house tailored around the family’s life. Every room, every ceiling, every window was positioned intentionally, so the lake was never far from view.
The large, high-design kitchen anchors the main living space with a 19-foot island featuring slab drawer fronts, a custom slab vent hood, and a full prep kitchen positioned directly behind it, so cooking for a crowd finally feels effortless.
The team rotated the vaulted ceiling 90 degrees, added a pop-up ceiling with clerestory windows in the living area, and installed large sliding glass doors along the back of the house, creating panoramic views of the lake.
The wet room in the primary suite features two showers and a full-size tub, giving the homeowners a private retreat that finally matches the beauty of the rest of the home.
The new outdoor patio, designed to complement the pool and the lake beyond, gave the family the entertaining space the property always deserved.
